Beaufort County Student Mental Health is eagerly seeking enthusiastic supervisors, fully licensed therapists, and provisionally licensed therapists to join our organization and provide exceptional school-based counseling services to students in our community. Responsibilities:

  • Provide school-based counseling services to students, addressing a range of mental health concerns.

  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and other professionals to support the overall well-being of students.

  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized intervention plans.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.

  • Offer crisis intervention and provide appropriate referrals for students in need of additional support.

Requirements:

Supervisors: 3+ years of clinical experience, current licensure, and be a Certified Supervisor.

Fully Licensed Therapists: Current professional counseling license (LPC, LMFT, LCSW), with 1+ year of clinical experience.

Provisionally Licensed Therapists: Current provisional license or meet the requirements for license eligibility in the state of South Carolina.

All counselors must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrate active listening skills, showing genuine interest and empathy towards students' concerns. They should communicate clearly and effectively, using appropriate tone and language to ensure that students fully understand their guidance. Additionally, counselors should be skilled at building and maintaining positive relationships with students.
